Yes, I know it’s past that. But I’m still trying to get a handle on how this place operates, as opposed to blogger.
When I started this blog, last sunday (6 Feb to be exact), I weighed in at 180.4 lbs. Yes, I know I live in Australia and we don’t use pounds at all, but it’s a finer measurement than kilograms, plus my brain doesn’t instantly convert it into kgs, so there’s not the mental issue with weight fluctuations.
Hell, it’s my blog, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make it work for me.
I spent the week attempting to try out a new training program that I found on the web – designed to prepare people to run 10k. Which I can do and have done, but like I said before, the objective is to get better at it. Not wanting to bore you with excuses, but the week was a particularly odd one work wise, so my normal PT sessions in the morning went down the gurgler in the place of training sessions (sit on ass and be subject to death by powerpoint type of training!). Needless to say, work is quite often like that, so I need to learn to be flexible with my fitness training sessions. I did manage to do interval training on Sun morning and Fri afternoon, and did a 2.4 run on Wed morning. I did that in 14:37, which is 7 seconds shy of a minute under what my maximum allowed time is, so I was happy with that, and I’d also like to take a minute off in the next 6 months.
I’ve never been one for interval training, and that probably explains my plodding running style. It was very interesting to see how my body reacted to the speeding up, and how it recovered, so I’m a little bit more enthusiastic than I was. Interestingly enough, I had the wrong intervals in my head, so this week I will have to get back on track. And fit in the weight training somewhere.
